At True Kit, we have always been driven by one clear idea: to build the best boats we possibly can. Every design decision, every material choice, and every detail that ends up on the water is filtered through that standard. We do not settle for “good enough.”
We have now applied the same logic to our accessory system.
QuickLok is the result.
It is a purpose-designed modular mounting system created specifically for True Kit boats and the way they are used in New Zealand and Australian conditions. Strong UV, constant salt exposure, beach launching, estuary and coastal fishing, and the need to pack the boat away cleanly at the end of the day — these are the realities the system was built around.
This is Phase 1 of a longer project. The current range is focused, but every part of it has been designed so the ecosystem can grow properly over the coming years. The vision is straightforward: a high-quality, modular accessory platform that matches the standard we already set with the boats themselves.
Why a Purpose-Built System Matters
Most accessory mounting systems are designed to fit as many different boats as possible. That approach makes commercial sense, but it usually involves compromises in fit, strength, or locking feel on any individual boat.
True Kit boats have a specific tube shape, a specific way of being used, and a specific set of real-world demands. We wanted a system that started from those realities rather than being adapted to them after the fact.
QuickLok gives us full control over three things that matter:
- Strength and materials — marine-grade 15% glass-filled nylon and stainless hardware chosen specifically for UV stability and saltwater durability.
- Locking feel — a positive, secure connection that is still quick to engage and release without tools.
- Future direction — because we own the design, we can continue expanding the range of mounts, adaptors and accessories without external limitations.
This is not a closed system. Other boat owners can buy and use QuickLok components if they choose. But every decision in the design process began with True Kit boats and the conditions they operate in around New Zealand and Australia.

The Core Components of the QuickLok System
The system is built around two foundation mounts and a set of accessories that lock into them. Everything shares the same interface, so the boat remains genuinely modular.
QuickLok Tube Mount

This is the foundation of the system on the tubes. It is bonded directly to the top of the inflatable tubes using a marine-grade adhesive, creating a rigid, permanent mounting point that does not rely on clamps or rails.
On all new True Kit boats, the Tube Mounts are already installed. Extra mounts are available if you want additional positions. The Tube Mount accepts the Rowlock, the Rod Holder, and future accessories.
Because it is bonded rather than clamped, there is no flex or movement under load — something that becomes noticeable when fishing in a chop or running with a loaded rod.
QuickLok Transom Mount (Sold as A Pair)

The Transom Mount bolts directly to the solid vertical face of the transom. It is supplied as a pair with the necessary stainless hardware. No drilling is required on new True Kit boats.
This mount is particularly useful when you want to keep the tubes clear or need maximum rigidity. Many anglers prefer to run rod holders from the transom so the tubes stay free for other uses or simply for a cleaner layout. The locking action is identical to the Tube Mount, so the same accessories fit both.

QuickLok Rod Holder

The Rod Holder locks into either a Tube Mount or a Transom Mount in seconds. Key features include:
- Full 360° rotation
- More than 90° of vertical adjustment
- A rotating collar that helps prevent strike theft
- A rear gimbal lock that keeps the rod steady when a fish hits
It is designed for the way most of us actually fish in New Zealand and Australia — a mix of trolling, drifting, and sitting at anchor. The adjustment range is wide enough that you can set a rod almost upright for bait fishing or lay it back for trolling without needing different holders.

QuickLok Clevis

The Clevis is a rotating male fitting with eight positive positions and a centre hole that allows a fastener to pass straight through. It is currently used as a key component in the True Kit Bimini mounting system, but its real value is flexibility.
You can use it to attach custom frames, third-party accessories, cameras, lights, or any other item that needs a strong, adjustable connection. Because it rotates and locks in defined positions, it remains secure under load.

QuickLok Base Adaptor

This is the open-ended piece of the system. The Base Adaptor locks into any QuickLok mount and features a Nylock insert in the base. You can then bolt almost any custom accessory to it using a standard M6 bolt.
If you want to mount a fish finder, a camera, a custom bracket, or something we have not yet made an official accessory for, the Base Adaptor turns QuickLok into a genuine platform rather than a closed range.

QuickLok Rowlock

The Rowlock is included with compatible boats when oars are specified. It locks into the Tube Mount and is part of the same modular family, so the rowing setup feels consistent with the rest of the boat.
How the QuickLok System Works in Practice
Because every accessory uses the same locking interface, the boat becomes genuinely modular. A few common setups illustrate this clearly:
Fishing-focused setup
Tube Mounts already on the boat + Transom Mounts at the stern → two or four Rod Holders. Add a Base Adaptor if you want to run a fish finder or camera from one of the same points.
Touring/Family Setup
Tube Mounts + Clevis fittings for the Bimini. Base Adaptor for lights or other gear. Rod Holders can still be added when needed and removed when not.
Mixed Use
Many owners will run a combination — rod holders on the transom for fishing days, then swap to other accessories when the boat is being used more for transport or exploring.
The ability to reconfigure without tools is one of the practical advantages that becomes obvious once you start using the system regularly.
Materials and Real-World Durability
Everything in the QuickLok range is made from 15% glass-filled nylon with stainless hardware. This is a deliberate choice. Glass-filled nylon offers significantly better strength and UV stability than standard plastics, while remaining light enough for an inflatable boat. The stainless components are selected for saltwater use.
The materials are specified for the conditions most of our customers actually boat in — strong sun, regular salt exposure, and the occasional rough launch or retrieval.
What Comes Standard and What You Buy Separately
On compatible new True Kit boats:
- Tube Mounts are fitted as standard
- Rowlocks are included when oars are part of the package
Sold separately:
- Additional Tube Mounts
- Transom Mount (pair)
- Rod Holder
- Clevis
- Base Adaptor
The most cost-effective way to start is often one of the current boat packages. Several already include selected QuickLok components, which reduces the overall cost compared with buying everything individually later.
Looking Ahead
QuickLok is now available for New Zealand and Australian customers. Wider international availability will follow as production capacity increases.
This is deliberately Phase 1. The current range covers the most common needs — secure rod holders, solid mounting points on both tubes and transom, a flexible connection for the Bimini, and an open adaptor for custom work. More specialised mounts and ready-to-use accessories are already in development.
The long-term aim is the same standard we apply to the boats themselves: to offer the best modular accessory ecosystem we can build for the type of boating that happens around our coasts and waterways. We are starting with the foundations. The rest will follow.
Final Thoughts
The QuickLok System exists because we apply the same standard to accessories that we apply to the boats themselves. We wanted a system designed from the ground up for the boats we build and the conditions they operate in.
The result is a clean, modular platform that starts with the essentials and is built to grow. If you already own a recent True Kit, the Tube Mounts are waiting. If you are ordering a new boat, look at the current packages — many already include the core pieces.
This is the foundation. The rest of the ecosystem will be built on top of it.
