Only used for a 4 day camping trip, but lightweight, and foregivable when my kids were running it up and down the bay.
Does exactly what I needed. Increased performance, and reduced prop cavitation.
Works great on my mercury 6hp, on a true kit 330. I moved the trim from all the way to the transom to 3 holes up. 20 mph by gps.
Very high quality but a tad clunky to assemble.
The perfect dinghy for folks with a small cruising boat such as my wife (74) and I (89) on a 22' C-Dory. Good quality material, strong. Clever design, mildly pontoon shaped, stable, soft seat for passenger on back end tube. Higher pressure insert floor makes boat rigid, stepping in like on a hard bottom. Better oar locks that really lock and hold oars securely in a spill. Good rowing position. Can carry even 3 smaller persons well on flat water. Easy to in- and deflate, light enough for old folks to put on cabin top and take down without sprains. Great little boat!
This is an amazing small boat .
I am an older individual who had to change to a boat that is portable yet stable and easy to board.
I am so impressed with the quality of the boat and even more impressed with the support of the seller.
Every question was promptly answered and the shipping was fast.
I couldn’t be happier with my purchase.
Well made, sturdy wheels that were easy to install. Only problem was the screws provided were too short and I had to get screws that were an inch and a half longer. It seems like the screws provided, are for a very thin transom. My transom is about an inch and a quarter thick.
Quick response. Very impressed with the quality of the boat.
What a good design. Bought as a second, small back-up tender and powering with a 2.5hp Yamaha
Love the “‘landing craft” front — our older German Shepherd had an easy time boarding from beaches— the main reason for the purchase — secondary reason: shallow water access better than our 14 ft RIB.
Professional build, great tender for the tropics!
Impossible to install , tolerances too tight and ss mounting plate is too thin.
Slightest warpage keeps lock mech from working. Bolts are too short !
I’m am totally frustrated
I need a thick mounting plate that won’t warp so easy. None of the inflatables have totally flat plane on transom as the have overlapping pvc fabric
I want a phone number for someone to talk to
I was towing your TrueKit 280 in rough conditions, 8-10 ft seas blowing 20 knots,(I should not do this) and it nose dived on me and nearly stopped my boat(it makes a great drogue by the way). But what I couldn’t believe was two D rings held while I worked for 15 minutes retrieving it. I’d have lost big money on that bet. I gotta say, you built a hell of a strong boat!!!! Bravo!!
Just unwrapped it once. Aired up fine. Will be using car air pump for future use. Foot pump is tedious.
Have not had it in the water as of yet, as weather conditions have not been kind here in South Carolina lately.
Will save that for future update.
First day out was on 4 and 5ft waves. The boat took it like a champ. Super stable! Great platform to spearfish from.
The launching sheels saved so much energy when getting our boat to the boat ramp! We bought the 4m Discovery package so these came with it. No regrets! Everything worked as expected and exceeded our expectations! Highly recommend TrueKit!
I absolutely love this boat; it is very LIGHT, with a 6hp Suzuki and beach wheels I can roll it up our beach without help, a huge benefit with our large tides and rocky coasts. I can also get it to plane and scoot right along with that motor. Our comparable monohull/standard inflatables in that size need a 20hp motor and are HEAVY. Also love the stability, and the fact that a cat doesn't need a plug.... any rainwater or spray just drains out. It was also very easy to put together.... will run this summer to test durability and longevity but everything indicates they're as tough or tougher than any other inflatable I've used. I like the rubber abrasion strips on the keels. It sits flat on my boats roof vs rocks on it's keel, so rides along as a dinghy perfectly. So cool and love it, well done TrueKit!
